So I made a bunch of icons and wanted some place to put them, so I decided to use the community I'd made to play with a Flexible Squares layout. I'd thought about using the community for some writerly pursuit (or maybe create a community for that, or create one for graphics), but since I needed something and it was there, I used it. So if any other of you writers out there have icons and graphics you want to share, you're welcome to join the community called impish_writers.

Okay, I had a couple of other ideas for the writers community I want to do. Hope either springs eternal or I'm too addicted to this blogging thing to care. Or maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. Only time will tell. I suppose I could do a poll on this at some point, but I want some feedback first, so, how about a place for bitching about writerly practices, including publishing, that bug folks. I've considered such titles as The Bitch Blog, Bitching Hour, and Bitching Well (I don't know if LJ has TOS re: titles, but AOL would probably have a coniption fit).

Another possibility is Our Favorite Resources, although with a better title, in which folks would post their favorite writer resources.

And of course, there's still the ideas idea, with The Idea Farm as a possible title.

My self-imposed writing the novel deadline is fast approaching and I suppose when I get back to that I'll stop bugging folks with all this blogging nonsense.

Meanwhile, my thoughts on the Emmys and award shows in general are over on Occasional Blog and my views on some of the new TV shows are over on Cyber Chocolate.

I've been playing with communities so I can play with layouts without crowding my main LJ's styles and layers pages, but there's only so much that can be done with a free account, which the communities are. One, as I mentioned earlier, is for my shared universe writing project itb_enclave. I made another called impish_writers. I've been thinking of actually using it for something, but always worry that no one would join. All the good ideas seem to be taken, too, like the Word Counts community. So I thought maybe a community where people could post their orphan or excess story ideas. They could be viewed as writing prompts or ideas for the taking for folks who have trouble generating their own ideas. Yeah, I know, that doesn't happen often. Or maybe we can just share ideas we had but don't want to write.

Would that interest anyone?
