I'm still visiting
jersey_lion after the con, and will go home tomorrow, but I thought I'd share this bit. We did actually do something fannish besides dealers' room, art show and art auction, and hall crawl (more about all that in my to-come con report), we went and saw a vid: Mosquito! Which is a Firefly parody and which premiered at last year's DragonCon, apparently and which I didn't know about til now. Why, oh why, had no one told me? If you don't know about it, you can view it here.

More here in the Mal Set.
And my annoyance is for how Billy Wagner blew the game against the Yankees and wasted Pedro Martinez's wonderful, 7 innings of shutout ball. Argh.

And now, ta da, this week's spammer names.
Hard to pick a fav this time, but a couple (Kaila and Maritza) would make nice character names.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote. While the voting was a bit close, which usually happens with low voter turnout (My polls seem to top out at 15 no matter how many people have me on their FL, hmmmmm....), Reaver is the clear winner. Here's Mal and Reaver celebrating.
There are a few other new ones in the set, including:

And yes, that's a real meteorite. It's from Canyon Diablo in Arizona and is mostly nickel and cadmium. It was donated to the library.

Mal now has a pet. Ain't he cute? But his name (his tag said: "Bad Boy Astor") won't do, so I'm currently entertaining suggestions. Serenity is the name of Mal's car, so that won't do, either. If you have a suggestion, leave a comment to this post. Thanks. :)

Confessions of an Idiosyncratic Mind: Create your own Serial Killer Novel
This was fun enough and writing oriented, so figured it was worth mentioning here.
An excerpt:
"Here is a sample of the contents:
THE PRE-WRITING CHECKLIST
KILLER'S PATHETIC BACKGROUND (choose all that apply):
__ skinny and unloved
__ fat and unloved
__ handsome and unloved
__ ugly and unloved
__ other children made fun of his Little Lord Fauntleroy suit, deforming
him for life
__ a woman with big boobs stepped on his foot, deforming him for life
__ cat pissed on his head while in the crib, deforming him for life"
Just remember, it's what you do with these basics that counts. heh
