Visitors from 1/30/05:
Got back this afternoon from visiting
jersey_lion. We had fun, going to Philadelphia Miniaturia, though there wasn't as much that I wanted as usual. We also had dinner with another friend and got our latest spy *book* printed. As soon as I catch up with stuff, I'll get back to the WIR. But this week, hubby is also off work, so we are actually going to do some fun stuff together.
Thought I'd make a new icon, so I'm showing it off herre.

Latest crop of spammer names for your amusement.
And for the record, I have room for only 2 more icons. After that, I'll need to delete some. Oh, the pain.
And just so you know, I think Heroes rocked tonight. I was breathless when it ended.
New boss started today. I've known him for 25 years, and he's a good guy, so this should work out nicely.

Coming up with titles is hard, especially for posts. I'd rather save my title energies for fiction. The water portion of this post refers to the lack of hot water at work and currently, the lack of cold water (and therefore lack of flushing toiets) at home. The spam portion refers to the latest batch of spam names.

Just a few for now because I felt the need to actually post something here. I've iconed myself into oblivion, I've been feeling crappy (shortness of breath, queasiness, pounding heart despite a perfectly lovely pulse and equally delightful blood pressure readings), and I've been writing on my little spy series and wondering if I'm ever going to have the energy and the urge to get back to the Mars books. I keep pushing my start date for it back and back. I'm thinking January 2007 now. *sigh* Nuclear stress test next week is what's on my mind right now. My doctor thinks I'm suffering from a combination of stress, an IBS flare-up, and perimenopausal hormone craziness. I'm actually hoping he's right.
So, for now, I present this paltry collection of spammer names:

Starting NOW. I take the train tomorrow am to visit
jersey_lion and we'll be going to Philadelphia Miniaturia over the weekend, and no doubt, spending money. I don't know if I'll have time to post here or not, so in case I don't, that will be why. :)

Oh, and BTW, summer seems to have arrived in NYC. I think it's time to see if the air conditioner works.

Crafted over the weekend (decoupaged boxes), didn't write. I still have nearly a dozen craft projects I want to do before the end of May so I can enter them in the MediaWest*Con art show. Been working on the ImPRESS Books website and my other blogs for now.
I just didn't want this blog to go too long without a post. And for those folks who don't read comments, my friend who got the C&D letter will be getting out of the zine distribution biz in the fall, after she fulfills her current obligations. She has already dropped the zines for the shows mentioned in the letter. I appreciate everyone's comments on the matter.

Well, it wasn't the most writerly 3-day weekend. I did get to the gym today, finished reading Dog Warrior by Wen Spencer (there were some grammatical errors, something I've come to expect from this series, but I enjoyed it anyway), went to an oldies concert with hubby (we saw Lou Christie and Frankie Valli and had a great time), worked on the spy stories for my self-published zine-like "books," and managed to make the needed revisions for a scene in the WIP from a week or so ago. I have a lot of notes for things I need to scribble on the hardcopy, then input into the file. And I blogged. A lot. But not as much as over the summer. I think my blogging is starting to settle down, into a nice rhythm with the rest of my regular activities

mellow
I didn't work on the WIP this week. I did jot down some notes, things I need to add or fix, things that need to be figured out. I have a 3-day weekend next week and plan to get a few more scenes drafted then.
Gee, this sounds depressing, but really, it's okay. I don't expect to write something every week and it's really hard when my weekends are 1-day affairs. I end up staying up too late on Saturdays I work, then get up too late on Sunday, and since I had to clean the bathrooms today and I was watching the last Mets game of the year, and was catching up on blogs, and well, time just flew by.
I did talk to my collaborator. I told her the new stuff I'd worked out and where I still had problems, so she can be thinking about them too and between the two of us, we should find a solution.
So that's it. Just wanted to put something new up here.
